Awakening with Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini yoga is one of the most spiritual types of yoga. It works with our conscious selves by awakening major chakras. Chakras are energy centers that regulate our energy.

Kundalini has been referenced as the mother of all yoga styles because the awakening of your chakras allows you to gain an understanding of the relationship between your physical body and your consciousness. In the end, you will have a better understanding of who you are.

Kundalini Sadhna is described as the energy that looks like a serpent with three and a half coils that are resting at the bottom of the spine. The three coils in Kundalini Yoga are known as the three Gunas which are the Sattva, Rajas, Tamas. The VIkritis represent the half coil.

In anatomy, the Kundalini is found in the perineum region of our body. For the males, it is found between the testicles and the rectum. For the female, it is found between the clitoris and the vagina.

Kundalini yoga targets your spinal cord and the nervous system. The exercises performed in Kundalini yoga target these areas.

Kundalini Yoga is also known as the symbol of equality and power for both genders. The masculine power is known to be Siva and the feminine power is known as Sakti. It is believed that when these two powers unite, they become the elemental source of power and energy.

The union of Siva and Sakti occurs in the brain. This union brings positive energies, such as, happiness, affection and love. So, when Kundalini Yoga is practiced, you will eliminate the negative energies of sorrow, depression, anger and jealousy.

Those who practice Kundalini Yoga will be rewarded by maintaining unity awareness and spiritual transformation. When the Kundalini is awakened, a hissing sound is produced. It is believed to sound like a beaten serpent as it moves from the Muladhara Chakra (base of the spinal cord), up the Brahma Nadi (spinal cord) and out the Sahasrara Chakra (crown of the head).

Kundalini yoga was introduced in 1969 by Bhajan. This variant of yoga practices common Mantra, meditation, chanting, breathing and the classic poses. The main focus of Kundalini yoga is on chanting and breathing.

The awakening experienced by those practicing Kundalini is not an easy thing to learn. You must have a thorough understanding behind the complexities of chakras and the physical body.

For those interested in mastering the Kundalini awakening, you need to focus on experience. Most likely, you will need to experience a series of trials and sessions before you realize a Kundalini awakening occurred. With the right amount of motivation and patience, this can be accomplished in a short bit of time.
